The name Ixtapa means "white place" in Nahuatl. It is a modern tourist destination with hotels of all categories and a major marina for 600 boats.  Here the modern and colonial architecture blend seamlessly to give this charming place a touch of elegance. This destination has a large bay in which to enjoy many water activities. You can also visit modern shopping centers where you will find cafes, restaurants, bars, boutiques and jewelers. The subtle sundown in Ixtapa Zihuatanejo provides an opportunity to take advantage of the welcoming embrace of the warm temperatures, perfect for an invigorating stroll along the manicured green areas of Ixtapa, or through the narrow streets of the typical village of Zihuatanejo, or even a romantic or family stroll barefoot, to feel the softness and moisture of the golden sands of the Pacific.
