Sapphire Valley has a magnificent 18-hole Sapphire Mountain golf course that spans the valley. On-site are eight tennis courts (two of which are lighted), a private beach on Fairfield Lake and great bass fishing. Enjoy canoes, paddleboats and fishing boat rentals. In the winter, you can enjoy a ski trip mid-December through mid-March, when three beautiful ski slopes are available for guests. Fairway Forest at Sapphire rests at the southernmost part of the Blue Ridge and covers 5,700 acres of natural beauty at an elevation of 3,100 feet. The resort provides an outdoor swimming pool, a hot tub, a park with a picnic area, a playground area, an 18-hole PGA golf course, eight clay and two hard- surface tennis courts, horseback riding, and miniature golf. An on-site restaurant, health club, an indoor pool, sauna, exercise equipment, game room, and laundry room is also available. A ski school is on site and both downhill skiing and snowboarding are popular in season.
