Austria is fabled for its artistic character, architectural grandeur and great outdoors.

The capital, Vienna, is renowned for its culture, particularly opera, theatre and classical music which can be enjoyed amongst an abundance of baroque era buildings, ornate venues and grand palaces all year round.

Beyond the urban, Austria’s natural landscape is the perfect backdrop for outdoor adventure. In winter, the Austrian Alps transform into a snow lover’s dream, attracting skiers and snowboarders from across the globe. In summer, when the snow melts, the Alps are still a hive of activity, attracting hikers and mountain bikers.

With a paddock to plate philosophy, Austria has been put on the foodie map for its fresh, local and seasonal produce. Alongside its fine fare, the country’s wine industry is thriving, producing a range of common varieties as well as the Grüner Veltliner, Zierfandler and Rotgipfler, three indigenous drops that can only be found in Austria.
